Unlike more traditional Chiropractors, that only treat the structural issues, Dr. Bertelmann uses a whole body approach to her treatments. She believes that in order to maintain your adjustment, you must also work on corrective exercises. We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health. By focusing on our patient's long term health, we are building partners in wellness to create a healthier and happier community. We offer a broad range of services suitable for all ages.
Dr. Bertelmann prefers a more gentle approach to chiropractic adjustment and utilizes the following techniques to comfortably adjust spinal and joint segments:
- Diversified Technique Activator
- Thompson Drop Technique SOT Blocks
- Flexion / Distraction
Why should I bring my child in for a Chiropractic adjustment?
Pediatric Chiropractic is a safe and effective form of health care for your child. Instead of masking symptoms, Chiropractic works directly with your child's body to allow them to naturally function better. It can help with colic, constipation, acid reflux, poor latching/suck, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, adolescent bedwetting, sport injuries, to name a few. As with her adult patients, Dr Bertelmann’s pediatric adjustments are gentle with no “popping “ or “cracking” of the spine.
What is an Activator and how does it help me with my Chiropractic care?
The Activator is an instrument used to deliver low-force chiropractic adjustments. The Activator adjustment is the preferred method for realignment of the vertebrae of the spine at our office, and can be used to treat a variety of health and joint problems outside of the spine.
Our patient's of all ages prefer the Activator adjustment over manual manipulation, due to it's highly gentle and effective use. By evaluating the cause of your problem, Dr. Bertelmann is able to determine when and where to adjust, and set the Activator accordingly. You are also provided at home exercises so that your body maintains the adjustment for longer periods of time.
